Sarah supports local good causes

Local Liberal Democrat MP for Brent East Sarah Teather has supported Dame Betty's Mission Dine Club fundraising lunch.

Dame Betty Asafu-Adjaye founded the Mission Dine Club in Brent for older, disabled and vulnerable people, offering hot meals, activities, outings and company. It started in Dame Betty's flat with just two people, but now has a permanent home at Fry and Chadwick Road in Brent.

Liberal Democrat MP for Brent East Sarah Teather said:

"This was a great event for a great cause. Dame Betty is a hive of energy and tremendous fun. She is a great example of what one person can achieve when they have determination and a clear vision.

"So many older people can feel alienated and lonely. The Mission Dine Club does an important job making sure there are opportunities to get out and about and to meet others.

"People at the Mission Dine Club are full of enthusiasm and have some great life experiences to share. Thanks to Dame Betty and her team, many retired people in Brent are having the time of their life!"
