Sarah Teather, Brent's Liberal Democrat MP and the Willesden and Brent Times have launched a competition to find a mascot to lead Brazil onto the pitch at the first international game to be played at Wembley Arena on Friday 1st June.

The lucky winner will be invited to lead the Brazilian team onto the pitch and will stand behind the teams during the playing of the national anthems. The winner will also be given a kit, and will receive tickets for themselves and two guardians to watch the match.

Entrants have been asked to submit a poem about Wembley Stadium, what it means to them personally and to people in Brent. Poems can take any form, including acrostics or limericks for example, should be sent to Sarah Teather MP, 1 High Road, Willesden Green, London NW10 2TE.

The closing date is Friday 18th May. Entrants should either live in or attend a school in Brent East (which includes Kilburn, Willesden Green, Welsh Harp, Dollis Hill, Dudden Hill, Mapesbury, Queen's Park, Brondesbury and Kensal Rise) and must be between the age of 9 and 12.

Local Liberal Democrat MP for Brent East Sarah Teather said:

"It's great to be able to offer this fantastic prize to children in Brent.

"The first international game at Wembley Stadium will be history in the making. This really is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I hope that all Brent's football fanatics, both boys and girls, will enter the competition.

"I can't wait to read about what Wembley means to you."
