Iran Must Release British Personnel Immediately - Teather

Sarah Teather has called for British troops to be immediately released

Local Liberal Democrat MP for Brent East Sarah Teather has expressed her shock at the abduction of British troops by Iran, and is calling for the men and women to be immediately released.

Sarah said:

"The abduction of British troops is a sinister and worrying development. Our thoughts are with these brave men and women, and their families here in Britain.

"Iran is already in breach of countless international obligations and to exploit the British hostages in this way for propaganda purposes is utterly disgraceful. Following the UN statement, Iran must end cynical exploitation of the British sailors and marines who were illegally abducted.

"Iran must now allow consular access and release all the British personnel immediately."
