Sarah Teather, Liberal Democrat MP for Brent East, has called for immediate action from the Environment Agency after reports that a leading contractor at Neasden Goods Yard is continuing to operate despite having their license removed by the local council.

Last week, Alloyde II lost a legal appeal against the Council's revocation of their license. Yet BBC London have today shown pictures of the firm continuing to operate at the Neasden Lane yard, described as 'the dirtiest street in London'.

Sarah Teather, who has been a leading campaigner on the issue and spoke on behalf of local people at the appeal hearing, has demanded urgent intervention from the Environment Agency to properly enforce the ruling.

Liberal Democrat MP for Brent East Sarah Teather said:

"I was horrified at reports of Alloyde flouting the law in the face of such an emphatic report from the Environment Agency. Last week's legal ruling was a real breakthrough, but must now be properly enforced.

"Alloyde appear to be operating illegally with absolutely no regard for people in the area. The Environment Agency's softly softly approach has failed. It is time to stop negotiating and to take firm action.

"Neasden residents have a right to live their lives free from pollution levels regularly three times the recommended limit. The Environment Agency must intervene as a matter of urgency to make sure that the ruling against Alloyde is upheld."
