Local Liberal Democrat MP Sarah Teather has today spoken of her concern that small businesses are being harmed by Post Office closures. When Post Offices are closed many small businesses around them suffer through a loss of trade.

Seven local Post Offices are facing closure in Brent. Local MP Sarah Teather is concerned that many small businesses in Brent will suffer as a result.

Brent East MP Sarah Teather said:

"Local Post Offices are so important for local businesses. Often local people get money out of the post office and then spend it in local shops.

"I fear that many local businesses will suffer a loss of trade if these Post Offices close. If the Labour Government wishes to encourage small businesses then it should stop the closure of our local Post Offices."
